AMoS

Mark:

Lee was running the board for some guitar takes on “Paradise.”  During a pause I started experimenting with a rhythm sound on my Ovation to pass the time.  Lee heard what I was doing he got up and said, “Guys, I’ve just got to do this.  Play what you just played again.”

Lee:

Yeah, I just used some pick ups that Mark had put between phrases, covered the bass on the Rhodes, and told him to go to the IV chord after the first phrase.  I didn’t tell him we were recording.

Mark:

I had no idea but when we stopped I said, “That was cool,” and Lee said, “Yeah, and I recorded the whole thing.”

Lee:

We added the B3 later and it sat around for a while until we were looking for a transition to “Going Home.”

Dan:

Besides the name of the Biblical prophet, for those of you who haven’t figured it out, AMoS stands for “A Month of Sundays,” as sort of the title cut – pretty clever, huh?
